In June, 2007, E-Reads, Ltd., New York, republished Tarnsman of Gor with generic artwork by E-Reads Art. Simultaniously, they also published a new eBook version. In June, 2010, Brilliance Audio, Inc., Grand Haven, published the Audio Book version, while Amazon Kindle, Seattle, released the Kindle version.
In March, 2013, a Second Printing, featuring new coverart by Cirque Studios, replaced this First Printing. The content of the book remained the same. As of this date (May, 2013), this new Second Printing is the most current paperback version of Tarnsman of Gor.
This is the enhanced and corrected version of the story of Tarnsman of Gor. The original version of the story was first published by Ballantine Books, Inc., New York in December, 1966 (here). In September 2000, in an open letter to Gor fans, entitled "How The Internet Can Change Lives!", John Norman anncounced that electronic publishing had given him the opportunity to revise, enlarge and improve the books, some more than others. As to Tarnsman of Gor, the changes were minimal, and only a few minor typos were corrected. This new enhanced version was first published in paperback format by New World Publishers in January, 2001 (here). However, due to the digital scanning process some new typos were introducted in this enhanced edition. So in June, 2007, E-Reads, Ltd., New York released a newly edited and corrected version of the story.
Tarnsman of Gor
Tarl Cabot has always believed himself to be a citizen of earth. He has no inkling that his destiny is far greater than the small planet he has inhabited for the first twenty-odd years of his life. One frosty winter night in the New England woods, he finds himself transported to the planet of Gor, also known as Counter-Earth, where everything is dramatically different from anything he has ever experienced. It emerges that Tarl is to be trained as a Tarnsman, one of the most honored positions in the rigid, caste-bound Gorean society. He is disciplined by the best teachers and warriors that Gor has to offer...but to what end? This is the first installment of John Norman's wildly popular and controversial Gor series, which has sold millions of copies.
John Norman is creator of the Gorean Saga, a series of novels spanning over 25 title that have become cult classics. Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the first book of the Gorean Saga, Tarnsman of Gor, E-Reads is proud to release the very first complete publication of all Gor books by John Norman, in both print and ebook editions, including the long-awaited 26th novel in the saga, Witness of Gor. Each book of this release has been specially edited by the author and is a definitive text.
