Over the past 45 years, almost fifty professional artists created artwork which was used for one or more covers of John Norman books; while hundreds, perhaps, even thousands of amateur artists created their own artwork. This section aims to give you a detailed overview of the sheer beauty that was inspired by the Chronicles of Gor, the visualizations of the Gorean universe.
I am currently updating the Artwork pages, adding Introductions and Artwork Galleries showing book covers side-by-side with original artwork. Finding good scans of original artwork is not easy, and there are still a lot of scans missing. If you have good scans of Gorean artwork by one of these artists, please let us know.
Several editions have used interior artwork to enhance their books. As of this date (September 10, 2012), this is what we know:
Interior illustrations on page i, 26.
Interior illustrations on page ii, 40, 63, 189, 236, 292 and 316.
Interior illustrations on page ii, 41, 127, 223.
There is undoubtably a whole lot of interior artwork we still need to find. The Russian Armada Edition consists of eleven hardcovers, each illustated, and we only have three of them. The French Opta Aventures Fantastiques Series consists of fifteen hardcovers, each illustrated, and we only have three of them. And there might be other editions with interior artwork we don't know about. If you have any of there books, and you wish to share this artwork, let us know.
