It could be argued that the following book covers should not be shown. The reason is simple: they are, almost certainly, illegal. These are books, mostly, ebooks, which have been created without prior knowledge or consent of the author. and they are distributed for free. When readers copy these books, instead of buying official ones, they are stealing from John Norman. So we should probably not advertise them.

Yet there are two reasons why I feel it is important to show you these covers. First, it is not easy to tell whether or not a book is legal, so there ought to be a place where one can check these things, and when John Norman books are concerned, obviously, The Complete John Norman is the place to go. Furthermore, some of these books have been produced during a time when the original texts were virtually unavailable. It could be argued that the interest in John Norman survived his blacklisting, mainly, because of the sometimes illegal, and, in any case, unsanctioned activities of some of his fans. For example, the German Dancer of Gor, Die Tänzerin von Gor, was published because the original publisher of the German translation, Heyne Verlag, in 1996, when rumors of a full series blacklisting started to spread, decided not to release the book. Fans of the series then translated the book to German, and published their own private version. Illegal, but, as some might say, at least, understandable.

In any case, I have added a little disclaimer to the book pages of all these books, and I will not publish much background information, except for the estimate date of publication, and, if known, the cover artist.
