The cover artwork is based upon the Boris Vallejo artwork first used for the Tenth Printing of Tarnsman of Gor (June, 1976), with most of the background removed.

Using the list above, and comparing the ISBN of the boxed set with the ISBN of the Nineth Printing of Assassin of Gor, and taking into account the date of the artwork, we can deduce that this box must have been released during the second half of 1976.

Ballantine also published a four-volume boxed set, also entitled Tarl Cabot of Gor, with ISBN 0-345-24793-0, during the second half of 1975.
