Note that the copyright year and the First Edition year (1967) is wrong; it should be 1966. This error first occured in the Tenth Printing of the Ballantine Edition of Tarnsman of Gor.
The front cover artwork by Boris Vallejo was first used in 1976 for the Tenth Printing of the Ballantine Edition of Tarnsman of Gor.
This is the original version of the story of Tarnsman of Gor. In September 2000, in an open letter to Gor fans, entitled "How The Internet Can Change Lives!", John Norman anncounced that electronic publishing had given him the opportunity to revise, enlarge and improve the books, some more than others. As to Tarnsman of Gor, the changes were minimal, and only a few minor typos were corrected. This new enhanced version was first published in paperback format in January, 2001, by New World Publishers (here). However, due to the digital scanning process some new typos were introducted in this enhanced edition. So in June, 2007, E-Reads, Ltd., New York released a newly edited and corrected version of the story (here). The most current version of story of Tarnsman of Gor is the Second Printing of the E-Reads Edition published in March, 2013 (here).
The HIDDEN WORLD
Earth could never know of Gor, the world always on the opposite side of the Sun. But Gor somehow knew about Earth, as Tarl Cabot soon discovered. Taken by force to that savage world, Cabot was forced to become a tarnsman - a warrior who could control the great war birds of Ko-ro-ba.
Gor was a world of slaves and beautiful women, of human domination by the alien, secret Priest-Kings. And it was also the world of Talena, tempestuous daughter of the greatest warlord of Gor. She waited for the man who could subdue her - the man who would be her master.
But was Tarl Cabot that man?
