This original First American Printing of the Ballantine Edition of Priest-Kings of Gor can be identified by the red ORIGINAL text in the top-right corner of the front cover; the text "This is an orininal novel - not a reprint" which appears on page ii and again in the top-left corner of the back cover; and the text "Printed in U.S.A." on page iv and again in the top-right corner of the back cover.

We presume, there also exists a First Canadian Printing of the Ballantine Edition of Priest-Kings of Gor, published in January, 1973. We haven't been able to find it yet, but originally, we presumed, it would have a blue ORIGINAL text in the top-right corner of the front cover and the text "Printed in Canada" on page iv and again in the top-right corner of the back cover, just like the First Canadian Printing of the Ballantine Edition of Tarnsman of Gor. We also presume the existance of a First Hybrid Printing of the Ballantine Edition of Priest-Kings of Gor. This First Hybrid Printing has the same front and back cover as the First American Printing, but on its copyright page it states "Printed in Canada". This could very well be the original First Canadian Printing, and we might be wrong about the First Hybrid Printing, but for now, we just keep an eye out for a Priest-Kings of Gor with a blue ORIGINAL text in the top-right corner of the front cover.

On page ii of both the First American Printing there is a reference to both Tarnsman of Gor and Outlaw of Gor with the text 'Also by John Norman... Tarnsman of Gor, Outlaw of Gor' and the last page of the book there is a black and white cover reprint of Tarnsman of Gor referenced as U6071 $0.75. On the back cover there are front cover reprints of both Tarnsman of Gor and Outlaw of Gor.

This First American Printing does not contain an ISBN.

TopBack Cover Text

Tarl Cabot, Tarnsman of Gor, is determined to discover whether or not his beloved wife Talena has in fact been destroyed by the all- powerful Priest-Kings who rule Gor with an iron and absolute discipline.

None knows the nature of the Priest-Kings - whether they are alien or supermen. None have ever returned from the Mountains of Sardar where the Priest-Kings have their stronghold.

And now Tarl himself is on the verge of entering Sardar.
